Energy Statement

Dawn Pork and Bacon operate a pig slaughter, cutting and curing facility producing a range of fresh and frozen Pork and Bacon products.
The company acknowledges that the consumption of energy leads directly to carbon emissions.
This policy statement was issued with the purpose to raise awareness for this issue, and to be a world-class performer on energy efficiency and to reduce the environmental impact of energy use.


Dawn Pork and Bacon are committed to:

  • Adhering to the legal and any other requirements related to energy efficiency, energy use and energy consumption.
  • Setting and reviewing objectives and energy targets which improve Dawn Pork and Bacon’s energy performance
  • Ensure the necessary resources and the availability of information to achieve objectives and energy targets.
  • Continual improvement of site energy performance and Energy Management System.
  • Supporting the procurement of energy efficient products and services that impact energy performance.
  • Supporting design and business activities that consider energy performance improvement.
  • This energy policy shall be communicated to our employees in order to keep awareness and commitment at a high level.

  • These commitments are met through a fully functioning Energy Management System, which incorporates an Action Plan, Objectives and Targets. The Energy Management System is based on the principles of the energy management standard ISO 50001:2018 and the Bord Bia Origin Green Programme.

All energy performance commitments and requirements have been integrated into the Energy Management System, allowing continual environmental sustainability improvement in a controlled and organised manner.
